Cleat Exchange expands to Equipment Exchange for 2012
Thanks to our gracious hosts of the Cleat Exchange, LSC is expanding this program to include deflated soccer balls and washed shin guards. Beginning this season there will be two additional storage bins on the front porch of our hosts that will be labeled for soccer balls & shin guards. The drawers are labeled by size. Please be sure to deflate the soccer balls and wash the shin guards before dropping off.
Please see the Equipment Exchange tab to the left for more information.
Volunteers Are Needed For Our Future
Laurelhurst Soccer Club will need volunteers to continue the excellence in our soccer program beginning in 2012. There is still a real need to find the right people dedicated to continuing the program for the kids who play soccer in our neighborhood. It is highly recommended for anyone who is interested in becoming a board member to contact the President at lsc.club.president@gmail.com as soon as possible
For the Fall 2012 season, LSC needs to fill the following volunteer positions to help our program:
- Coach Coordinator
- Photo Coordinator
Your participation is crucial to our continued excellent program. A job description for all our positions is available on the LSC website by clicking on the Volunteers tab.
Control: Trapping With Outside Of Foot
When you wish to bring a dropping ball under control, move off quickly to one side with it. Trap it with the outside of your foot. Say you want to move to the right: Crouching slightly, lean to the right and slope your right leg at about 45 degrees. Take the ball on the outside of your right foot, which should "give" a little to coax the ball gentle to the ground. Then, sweep it away to the right with your trapping foot. Keep your eyes on the ball.
Remember to mark all of your players belongings. The coaches end up with a lot of gear at the end of practice and games.
Laurelhurst Soccer Club recognizes the diversity and worth of all individuals and groups and their roles in society. It is the policy of Laurelhurst Soccer Club within the confines of the sport that there will be no discrimination or harassment of individuals on the grounds of age, color, creed, disability, national origin, race, religion, sex or sexual orientation.
